How to Export Your Binance Trading Data

· About 14 min

Why Export Trading Data

Exporting your trading data is useful in several situations:

Tax filing. Many countries require reporting crypto trading gains. You need complete trading records to calculate taxable amounts.

Profit and loss analysis. Analyzing historical trades lets you evaluate your strategy's performance, identify your best and worst periods, and refine future decisions.

Bookkeeping and auditing. If you're an institutional user or need to report to investors, complete trading records are essential.

Personal backup. As part of your personal financial records, regularly backing up trading data is a sound practice.

Types of Exportable Data

Binance supports exporting the following categories:

Spot trading records: All buy and sell orders on the spot market, including fill prices, quantities, and fees.

Futures trading records: All USDT-margined and coin-margined futures trades, including opens, closes, and funding rates.

Deposit records: All crypto deposits to Binance, including deposit addresses, amounts, timestamps, and block confirmations.

Withdrawal records: All crypto withdrawals from Binance, including destination addresses, amounts, fees, and status.

C2C trading records: Fiat buy/sell records through the C2C channel.

Earnings records: Detailed records from Earn products, staking, airdrops, and similar.

Transfer records: Internal transfer records between your various accounts.

Web Export Steps

Exporting Spot Trading Records

Step 1: Log in to the Binance website and click the user icon in the upper right. Select "Orders" → "Spot Orders."

Step 2: On the order history page, select your desired time range. The page defaults to recent orders, but you can customize the start and end dates.

Step 3: Select a trading pair. You can export all pairs or filter to a specific one.

Step 4: Click the "Export" button in the upper right of the page. Choose the export format — typically CSV.

Step 5: The system generates an export task. Since the data volume can be large, the export may take a few minutes. You'll be notified when it's ready, and the file can be downloaded from the "Export Records" page.

Exporting Futures Trading Records

The process mirrors spot. Go to "Orders" → "Futures Orders," select USDT-margined or coin-margined, set the time range, and click "Export." Futures records typically include additional fields like leverage, average entry price, average exit price, and realized P&L.

Exporting Deposit/Withdrawal Records

Go to "Wallet" → "Transaction History" → "Deposits" or "Withdrawals" tab. Set the time range and click "Export."

Exporting via API

For more flexibility or automated periodic exports, use the Binance API.

Relevant endpoints include: query all orders (GET /api/v3/allOrders), query trade records (GET /api/v3/myTrades), query deposit history (GET /sapi/v1/capital/deposit/hisrec), and query withdrawal history (GET /sapi/v1/capital/withdraw/history).

When exporting via API, handle pagination carefully. Each API call returns a limited number of records (typically 500–1,000). For large datasets, pass timestamp parameters to retrieve data in batches.

Generating Tax Reports

Using Binance's Built-In Tax Tool

Binance offers a basic tax report feature. In the "Wallet" → "Transaction History" page, find the "Tax Report" option (availability may vary by region). Select the tax year and calculation method (e.g., FIFO, LIFO), and the system automatically generates a report formatted for your local tax requirements.

Using Third-Party Tax Tools

If you trade across multiple platforms or need more sophisticated tax calculations, consider third-party crypto tax tools like CoinTracker, Koinly, or TokenTax.

The typical workflow: export CSV records from Binance, then import them into the third-party tool. These tools automatically match buys and sells to calculate your taxable gains.

Some third-party tools also support direct API connection to your Binance account for automatic data syncing — even more convenient.

Important Considerations

Time Range Limits

Binance's web export typically limits each request to 3 or 6 months of data (depending on the data type). For longer time spans, you'll need to make multiple export requests and merge the files.

File Format

Exported files are typically in CSV format, readable with Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet software. When opening, select UTF-8 encoding to prevent garbled characters.

Time Zone Issues

Timestamps in exported data are typically in UTC. If you need local time, manually add the appropriate offset. For example, China Standard Time is UTC+8, requiring you to add 8 hours.

Data Integrity

After exporting, verify the data's completeness. Spot-check a few records against the trade history shown in the app or on the web to confirm amounts, timestamps, and other details match.

Regular Backups

Make it a habit to export trading data periodically — monthly or quarterly. This ensures you have your own backup even if the platform experiences issues down the road.

App Export

The Binance app also supports data export, though features may be more limited than the web version. In the app, go to "Funds" → "Transaction Records" to find the export option. Exported files are sent to your registered email.

Practical Uses for Exported Data

Calculate Total P&L

Import all buy and sell records into a spreadsheet. Total sell amount minus total buy amount minus total fees gives your total realized profit or loss.

Analyze Fee Spending

Sum up the fee fields across all trading records to see your total fee expenditure on Binance. The number might surprise you — and help you evaluate whether upgrading your VIP level would be worthwhile.

Track Asset Flows

Using deposit, withdrawal, and transfer records, you can trace every asset movement — where it came from and where it went — building a complete fund flow map.

Summary

Exporting trading data is a skill every serious investor should master. Whether for tax compliance, P&L analysis, or personal backup, making regular data exports a habit is important. Binance offers web, app, and API export methods — choose whichever suits your needs. Pay attention to time zone conversions and data integrity to ensure your exports are accurate and usable.
